How to achieve Adobe Campaign Classic Business Practitioner certification
At Digital Response we have experts certified in some of the most important email marketing platforms on the market. In fact, Alejandra, Gabriela and Fran previously told you about their experience studying and obtaining the certifications from Salesforce, Oracle Eloqua y Oracle Responys.
In my case, I will explain to you how I have achieved the certification of Adobe Campaign Classic Business Practitioner (AD0-E300) and what the process has been like.

Adobe Campaign Classic, as I said, it is a very complete and complex email and marketing automation platform that allows you to use customer data to create, coordinate and send dynamic campaigns through email, mobile devices, offline channels, among others.
In order to have a better understanding of the platform and also to demonstrate expertise on the platform, there are certifications that accredit marketers who have an optimal command of the platform. According to Adobe, "to be an Adobe Certified Expert is to be able to demonstrate the expertise needed to help customers get value from an Adobe solution".
Specifically, I will talk about the certification of Adobe Campaign Classic Business Practitioner. Unlike the Oracle and Salesforce accreditations that my colleagues obtained, in this case it is not mandatory to take a course in order to sit the exam. However, for people who are not used to using the platform on a daily basis or who have not mastered the platform in depth, it is advisable to take the training to gain the knowledge and skills necessary to pass the exam successfully.
In my case, I did not take the training I did, however, do a 4-day Adobe Merkle. At that time we were working with Adobe Campaign Classic 6 and the latest version of the platform was 7, the same version that was the focus of the exam. The Merkle course gave us the necessary tools to see what changes the platform had undergone and to refresh our knowledge.
For those of you who decide to take the Adobe course, there are different modalities:
- On-demand Training
- Virtual Instructor Led Training
- In-person Instructor Led Training
- On-site Training in-person
Here you can find more information about each modality.
Once you have successfully completed the course or feel ready to take the exam, it's time to take it. The test consists of a total of 54 multi-choice questions which you will need to answer in 85 minutes or less. To pass you will need to answer at least 70% of the answers correctly. The test can be taken online or in person. If you choose to take it online, as I did, you must be alone in a room, in silence, with your computer's webcam and microphone on and sharing the screen. At this video you can see how to do it correctly.
As far as the content of the exam is concerned, it revolves around the following points that you will have to master perfectly:
- Campaign Management: know how to create and configure campaigns and determine the correct campaign template.
- Workflow Management: be able to interpret campaign requirements and configuration approvals, be able to resolve workflow errors and determine a correct workflow design. Be able to create technical workflows and know how to execute them.
- Data Management: Know how to import, export and perform data research, as well as how to create lists and set up a predefined filter.
- Delivery Management: Know how to create and configure submissions, correct approval tests, interpret submission audits and implement a submission.
- Reporting: Know how to identify the steps necessary to generate deliverability reports, determine the appropriate reports to generate and interpret campaign reports.
- Administration: Know how to manage users and folder structures.
If you are thinking about applying for your certification Adobe Campaign Classic Business PractitionerIf you are a member of the European Parliament, my advice on how to approach this examination would be as follows:
- If you have not mastered the platform in depth, I recommend that you take the Adobe course to acquire the necessary knowledge to be able to make optimal use of it and pass the exam successfully.
- Keep in mind that practice is everything and it is not something you can study theoretically. Try to do practical exercises and real cases that can help you prepare. Remember that Adobe recommends that you have two years of experience on the platform to have a better chance of passing the exam.
At Digital Response we felt that getting this certification was a good way of accrediting the knowledge I had on the platform and demonstrating that we can work with it without any problems. I have also been able to brush up on different aspects of the platform's functionality, giving me even more confidence in its handling and allowing me to work faster.
