The importance of the Opt-In: How to create an effective registration form
There are 2 basic rules to keep in mind when creating a registration form:
1. The more information we request from the user, the fewer the number of registrations.. In other words, we must make the registration process as easy as possible in order to increase the visitor/registration ratio.
2. Rule no. 1 has to coexist with rule no. 2 according to which, the more information we get from the user (contact details, company, sector of activity, etc.), more qualified will beThe more we know about them, the more personalised and relevant our direct marketing actions will be.
A good practice is to make these two rules coexist by means of what is called the progressive registration. In the first instance the user can register by leaving basic contact information (name, email, postcode).
Once you have registered, it is important that you receive an automatic email in which:
- You are requested to confirmation of registration (this way, we will know that the email of all users who have confirmed is valid).
- You will be directed to a form in which you can optionally more information of your profile.
