Email marketing strategies are based on the creation and management of relationships with the company's public, however, email marketing can generate synergies with other online marketing strategies that a priori are not usually mixed. This time we will talk about how email marketing can help search engine optimisation.
Following a few steps on a regular basis in our email marketing can add points to the SEO strategy..
For the relationship between SEO and email marketing to be beneficial we highlight two important ways:
1. We must hosting emails on the server and domain of the website to which they are associated, as well as on the email marketing platform we use. To take advantage of the pull of the mail hosted in the email provider we can place a rel=canonical pointing to the website hosted on our domain. In this way, Google will understand that the main URL is the one we host ourselves and will take it as a priority. We have valuable information thanks to the email addresses of the users in our database: if they do not use the usual email services (Gmail, Hotmail, Yahoo...) we will have before us a domain that can potentially link to us. If we make a selection of these domains in our database and we make an extra effort towards them (either socialising with them through their profiles or carrying out very personalised and exclusive campaigns) we will be able to achieve a much more stable and fruitful relationship. It is obvious that the advantages are not only SEO, we can obtain different benefits depending on our objectives and the generation of links can be one of the most interesting.
