11 steps to build your Adwords customer list
Google AdWords allows us to create a list of email addresses with customers who have previously had contact with the brand. The goal? To show a specific audience ads in Google search, Gmail or Youtube.
We are undoubtedly talking about a tool of Retargeting which allows users, who have previously visited the brand's site, to be reached in a more personalised way in order to achieve the desired conversion.
Suppose a marketer wants to introduce a new product to customers who have already been interested in his brand in the past. To do this, the brand must create a Retargeting listIn this case with the emails of customers you already have (e.g. because they have subscribed to your newsletter), and target a campaign exclusively adapted to the customer list you have created to offer them in the most detailed way possible what they are most interested in. Finally, those users who log in to their Google account will see the brand's advertisements either from the search engine, gmail or Youtube. Therefore, this list will only be used to link it to Google IDs and to verify compliance with policies. After seven days, this list will be deleted.
Once it is clear what this customer list is for, in this article we explain the steps to follow to create it:
- Log in to Google AdWords
- Click on Shared library

- Click on Public

- Click on + Remarketing list and select Customer e-mails

- Enter your name
- Select to upload customer email addresses
- Select the file .csv with the email list
- Check the box "This data has been collected and will be shared with Google in accordance with the Google policies"
- Introduce a URL where users can manage preferences for receiving mail, including unsubscribing if desired
- Sets the duration
- Click on upload and save list

If it takes a while to load, don't worry, it usually takes a few minutes. Once the list has been finalised, uploaded and saved, add it to your Adwords campaign you want to apply it... AND YOU'VE GOT IT!

Remember: in addition to Google Adwords there are other tools that allow you to create lists, such as Google Analytics. Adwords may be the best to start with as it is the simplest tool. However, although every retargeting tool segment and operate in different ways, they all have the same objective: to achieve the conversion of a user who has initially shown an interest but for various reasons has abandoned the acquisition process..
